This session presents an ECIU University micro-module and challenge jointly developed by INSA Toulouse and University of Trento, alongside a collaborative research project involving the University of Aveiro, Linköping University, and Lodz University of Technology. The session outlines how these institutions co-design a shared learning pathway that combines online lectures, case studies, and a transnational student challenge. It presents the pedagogical structure, including partner roles, learning objectives, and assessment approaches. Focusing on real industrial problems in smart machining, the challenge integrates topics such as data acquisition, multi-agent systems, and energy-efficient manufacturing. The session also reflects on student engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the added value of international cooperation within the ECIU framework.
